About
DARREN BRISTOW
CAREER
I started Pilates at the insistence of my other half as a way of increasing strength and preventing injury. After attending a Pilates retreat in Kefalonia, I realised the benefits of Pilates for all and began my instructor training. Already a ski instructor and athletics coach, I am now able to apply the principles of Pilates across all sports.
When I’m not in the studio teaching Pilates you’ll find me running around the streets of Sheffield or up and down the hills and dales of the Peak District. Having successfully completed my first 50 mile Ultra Marathon in October 2021 I'm currently training for my first 100 mile Ultra in July 2022 followed by the iconic Comrades event in South Africa in August.
In December 2021 I qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist and am currently helping people to reduce stress, pain, muscle soreness and tension associated with demanding training plans, enabling them to stay injury free. Maintenance massages play a crucial role in identifying any potential issues and nipping those annoying little niggles in the bud before they develop into something more serious.
